sigh

I am all finished with all-things-school, except the physical act of dropping off my thesis (one paper and one electronic copy) to the graduate school. This is remarkable! This feeling of freedom is indescribable! I took an extra day off this week (giving myself a three-day weekend) to celebrate. I slept 12 hours last night. It will take a while to fully catch up on averaging 4 hours of sleep every night for the last month, but sleeping in felt good. I may even go ahead and take a nap today, too. Why? Well, just because!

So what have I been doing with myself since I have turned in my thesis? Exploring. Picnicking. Relaxing. Enjoying life. Look, see?

These are all moments captured since I've been free. And I am not done, yet.

She Approved

I don't even know how to begin this. I dreamed of the moment when all of my hard would would result in the completion of a graduate degree, but I didn't know what it would feel like.

In one word, amazing.

I received word this morning from my thesis advisor that she read through my final submission and approves. She is out-of-state, so will have to mail her signature back, but she approves! All day long it has been running through my head, "she approved, she approved, she approoooooved!" much like Rudolph announces "I'm cute!"

I still have to finish what I told her I would finish (add the photographs where my figures are supposed to be) and fix the minor mistakes she caught in her final reading. But that is no big thing. She approoooooved!

Aw, man! I can't describe how good this feels.
